Crafted from reclaimed Swiss Pine these solid planks, in lengths of up to 4 metres, have been charred using the ancient Japanese process of Shou Sugi Ban. Once charred, our craftspeople have brushed these planks by hand, removing the soft summer growth and leaving behind a beautiful pattern and texture. Shou Sugi Ban not only protects the planks from fire, infestation and rot, prolonging the life of the wood, it also adds a distinctive beauty that will provide a talking-point in any interior. These solid reclaimed Swiss Pine planks can be used on floors, walls and ceilings. Discover the beauty of Shou Sugi Ban through samples, available to order on our website or through our Design Centres in London and Cheshire.
A RECLAIMED FLOOR
The charm of a reclaimed wood floor is hard to define and impossible to replicate. Reclaimed wood holds wonderful records of a past life, from beautiful patinas, rusty nail holes and weather cracks, to the smooth sections which have been corroded by the repeated touch of a thousand hands. The character that reclaimed wood holds is inimitable and its unique history provides a talking point to all who come into contact with it.

A HOMAGE TO ANCIENT JAPAN
Our Carbonised wood pays tribute to the ancient Japanese process of Shou Sugi Ban. Shou Sugi Ban is the intricate process of charring wood to produce deep, silvery tones. Our craftspeople produce simple planks, geometric squares and more complex circular designs.
This year we’ve introduced new designs to our Carbonised portfolio, creating lighter, silvery tones by burning and then heavily texturing the material for a different take on Shou Sugi Ban.
Not only is our Carbonised portfolio created using antique techniques, the wood used is also antique; we use Elm, Pine and Oak to create a flawless fusion of artistic approaches and historic origins.
Discover delicately crafted panels, planks and textures within this portfolio, perfect for making a design statement in any interior.
