Ruskin – the story behind the wood

The inevitable reaction to anyone encountering Woodworks’ Ruskin antique oak panels for the first time is to reach out and run their hand over the surface of the wood. It’s not just the deep, rich patina, or the slightly undulating surface which hints at the centuries of history contained within. It’s about wanting to make a connection with something so full of character and beauty.

The wood used in Ruskin panels comes from 400-year old French Oak. It’s an extremely scarce resource which has been restored to ensure that it will be enjoyed for a many more centuries. We’ve used this beautiful wood to produce planks, parquet de Versailles and parquet de Chantilly panels.

Ruskin is available to view at our Design Centres in London and Cheshire, and from selected retail partners nationwide.
